Today in class we talked a lot about population. We learned that the earth is just growing and growing not in size but in people. I personally think that there are way to many people that there needs to be a period where it all stops so we can take a break and that places do not become over populated.

Friday in class we took our first test. I thought the test was fairly easily, well probably because I studied what i needed to study and i was prepared. I feel I did real strong on the essays which i hoped i did because those were worth the most points and I would rather get a multiple choice wrong then essay. But all in all the test was fairly easy and hope the next tests will be like this.

Today in class we presented are power points of globalization and went over stuff that will be on the test Friday. I think that globalization is good but also I do not like that we are taking jobs away that could be here in America that our fellow citizens could be working rather then someone in another country. I mean come on companies were is your patriotism.

Nike Still Doesn't Do It

Today in class we learned about how Nike was put into real heat because of the how much they pay their workers. So after they were put in this hot heat they do a lot of PR work and try to build up a nicer image but never actually fixing the problem. They now pay their workers a minimum wage of 4 dollars. Which still inst much and they were recently in the news for having their workers at gun point to take lower income.

Nike isn't what it seems to be

Today in class we watched a video about how nike only pays there workers in Indonesia $1.25 a day. I think it's horrible I mean nike is probably one of the biggest countries in the world. But if you look at it from a money stand point instead of a humane standpoint. Then money over rules them. The money is what they care about and if they can get more money and pay less workers then they want to do that.

Today in class we talked about globalization. it was interesting that the biggest money maker in the world is the movie industry. i would have thought it was the oil business or car business. it was funny that everyone in the world wants to see american movies with american actors and mostly american themes.

today in class we learned about Google documents. which i think are very cool. I like that you could be working on something from your house and someone else in their could click on and start work on from where they are. it is a good way to do group projects and not actually have to be in the same room as each other.

In Fridays class we talked about how a week newspaper in today time would be more then a person would learn in their whole entire life back in the 18th century I think it was. That fact just really stands out to me it is showing how great it is to be living in this time that you can just go on your phone and Google something then you have a million pages of what you Googled. I think i am very lucky for this technology.

Three facts that really stuck out to me in the shift happens video were

1. That the U.S. department of Labor estimates that today's learner will have 10-14 jobs.
That really sticks out to me because when it comes when I'm out of college and looking for a job I really don't want to be running from job to job and getting a new job every 4 months I want to get one job and stick wit it.

2. The second fact was the one of England in 1900. I fell that America could be that country, I mean I love our country and am very patriotic but America isn't the greatest country in the world anymore but we can be and we can be the best. We just need the right leadership.

3. The last fact was the 1 out of 6 couples last year married in the U.S. last year met online. That to me is kind of sad because it is saying that us as Americans have to do everything online. It is kind of showing that we are to lazy to go out and meet people I think the best way to meet someone is face to face.

Today we discussed about Socrates and his way of thinking that there was always another question to the answer. He would make you think deeper about things and truly understand. To me Socrates was a mans man he would stand up for what he believed. He was given a chance to apologize to the people but he was just like nah man I'm right your wrong now give me free dinner. Total bro move of him. At his death bed it was like dude give me the drink no big deal. He was just actually pretty bro and awesome.

Today in class we went over are homework from last night which was to find definitions on Greek words. When we were going over our homework, Mr. Schick finally realized that not a lot of people were precipitating in what we were doing. I understanded what the homework was about I mean I did but I put in more to the definition then I really needed.
